Our journey began in the fall of 2014, when our family moved to a small farm in Navasota, Texas to become more self-sufficient and healthy. Having many food allergies and growing weary of grocery store options, we set out to raise our own food. We also needed more space for our rabbitry which was rapidly taking over the garage. Once on the farm, we realized there were more options to farming than we ever imagined. After much trial-and-error and experimentation, we found our place in the farming community.
Our family has dedicated its time to help conserve heritage breeds as named by the American Livestock Conservancy. Currently on the farm, we have Harlequin rabbits, which are on the study list, and American rabbits, which are on the threatened list. We also have a guinea hog which is currently on the threatened list.
Our search for healthier food options led to our investment in Nigerian Dwarf goats. The milk from this breed tastes identical to cow's milk and works well as a substitute for it. We are currently working on making our own soap and dairy products with the goat milk. Along with our goats come their loyal livestock guardian dogs.
We focus on raising heritage breeds.
We breed for quality, not quantity.
Our animals have shown and competed all around Texas. We pride ourselves on raising livestock that are as comfortable in the show ring as they are at home. All of our animals are bred for temperament and handled from birth.
